Ce sont des recherches et études génétiques et moléculaires du matériel génétique d’un spécimen femelle de coelacanthe, gestante d’1,65 mètre de long et de ses embryons.

Le Coelacanthe (Latimeria chalumnae), classé dans l’Embranchement des Chordata est pêché accidentellement.

Additional Information

Seuls trois stades de croissance embryonnaires étaient auparavant connus pour les cœlacanthes. C’est la première fois qu’un matériel de qualité d’embryons de coelacanthe est disponible pour des études génétiques et moléculaires.
